CDSS encourages clients to participate in the community and take part in social activities of their liking. Our service wants participants to be active members of society and live life to the fullest.
We understand the need for support in shopping for necessities and our team will make sure you have that support!

CDSS will engage with clients to help them identify their goals and work with them and their family/carers to put in place the supports to develop everyday skills with a focus on building confidence and independence. Development of daily living and life skills focuses on training and development activities undertaken by NDIS Participants or their carers to increase their ability to live as autonomously as possible. Our supports can be provided either individually or through group activities and can include skills in daily life activities, communication and social skills, problem solving and managing funding of supports.

To assist customers to manage these challenges, we offer a range of training and development activities, aimed at building their capacity to manage day‐to‐day life, through the development of their knowledge, skills and networks of support.

Additionally, if participants have a unique skill that they want to learn, CDSS will work with them to reach that goal. Our support workers come with a diverse range of backgrounds and interests. All we do is help match those skills and interests with the clients needs!

As an NDIS service provider we recognise and appreciate the level of complexity faced by people with disabilities when tackling everyday tasks and activities. We can provide training and development across a range of life skills, including:

CDSS also appreciates the unique challenges faced by people with a disability in relation to personal and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, our service also recognises the challenges faced by the parents, family members and Carers to manage issues relating to social skills, sexuality, interpersonal relationships, regulation of emotions and personal safety. We provide services to assist clients and their families or Carers to navigate these issues as they arise, as well as to implement strategies that will increase their potential to manage these matters in the future.
Our service staff can work with clients to develop their skills and independence to manage their Daily living expenses and create a budget. By working to improve NDIS participant’s numeracy and literacy, our service also improves their skills for communication and independent living. It should be noted however that CDSS is not licensed to provide financial advice or investment recommendations and as such we refer our participants who may need assistance in these areas to consult with their accountant and financial professionals for such things.

We understand that being a parent or Carer is a full‐time, high pressure job, placing significant demands on an individual’s time, energy and resources. CDSS can work with parents and Carers to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required to manage their day‐to‐day realities and longer-term situations as well as their support towards participants.

In partnership with parents and Carers, CDSS can provide information and guidance about the management of challenging behaviours, personal care and meal time support. Our service also works with parents to manage episodic issues including transitions into, between and out of educational settings and transition out of the family home into independent or group‐based living environments.

We aim to support and enhance the lives of those needing assistance.
